A Meaning for the Mess

…yeah, apparently I have a thing for sunsets… and quotes…

...yeah I apparently have a thing for sunsets...
“Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This day is all that is good and fair.. It is too dear with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on the yesterdays.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today I have a few pictures and 2 lovely posts from other people I’m feeling led to share…! I don’t know how they know what I’m thinking or what I need to hear but I will defer to them and their beautiful words…and maybe it’s something you need to hear as well…

First, this lady is Hi-larious. For real. I read her book “7” and I know people looked at me strangely in waiting rooms as I laughed out loud more than once because she was so fantastically amusing…

Secondly this gal is awesome. Again, I’ve read a couple of her books and each one has me taking notes and really thinking through and unpacking my reactions to it for days on end…

On another seemingly random, but totally related note if you read that post by Lysa Terkeurst that I linked to above…

I have driven by this sad run down place for 7+ years….

"It's all messy: The hair. The bed. The words. The heart. Life" ~William Leal
“It’s all messy: The hair. The bed. The words. The heart. Life” ~William Leal

but what I failed to notice until yesterday was this:

"There's joy to be found in every.single.day. It's all good" ~Anonymous
“There’s joy to be found in every.single.day. It’s all good” ~Anonymous

Yep that door was blue, well, technically it still is blue… I had to look past the mess on the front. Past the rotted boards. Past the general not prettiness to see it but it was there waiting for me over on the side…

What joys are you noticing today?

  1. Can I borrow the first quote for myself??? AHHHH I need this hung in my living room for real! That makes 2 great phrases this week, 1 from here and 1 from FaithBarista (a scripture). I seriously think I need to just plaster positives all around and post my journey in it all! I am about to check out the links too. I am excited about the funny one – I need more funny in my life hehe. Thanks for sharing!!
