Inspire, what God can do

The Plus Side

The plus side of saving the .49 cents and dropping off the car insurance check instead of mailing it:

A beautiful view from the parking lot…wm crossroads

The plus side of going out of our way to attend the nephew’s Harvest party at his Christian school (he’s not pictured because he’s almost 14 and too cool for the rest of us right now…) :

Horse + Buggy = L♥Ve….

After pulling a carriage with 4 passengers and 1 driver over and over, you would think old Robbie would be exhausted. But they just kept giving him little rests, letting him hit the hay for a few mouthfuls, splashing him a little water and he was good to go.

Unlike that sweet horse, last week I was exhausted. Every day just dragging through. Achy foot and leg issues. Internal clock rebooting due to the time change. Lamenting with my best girl how we didn’t realize we were at the age where our bodies were going to start an uprising against us. Such is life. But we are thankful to live it regardless. And boy am I glad I didn’t have to pull a buggy behind me…

This weekend brought a football game and a brief but welcome visit from a dear friend on Friday followed by rest, cleaning, puttering and sewing around the hacienda on Saturday. On Sunday we got churched x 3…. Two services and a harvest party. At three different churches no less…!

Rest, food, and recharging seemed to be just what I needed.

And now it’s Monday.

Ripe with possibilities as long as I stay on the plus side.

As long as I keep seeking out the positive and leaning in on God’s promises.

Faith always rings true.

How was your weekend? What are you looking forward to this week?

  1. Staying on the plus side is so hard sometimes! I had a rough morning–I was just grumpy about having to go to work after a late night. But I’ve found my joy is directly linked to the amount of Thankfulness I have for God’s blessings. My hubby was good to remind me of all the blessings in my day (as well as promise to have the vacuuming done before I came home <3) and I came to work in a much better mood because I am SO thankful for this job and for the job that kept me up late. I'm thankful for my coffee, I'm thankful for my hubby, I'm thankful for the sunshine today, I'm thankful for a few quiet moments here at work before classes begin. God is good!

    1. Awww girl I know!!! I feel your pain and grumpy leanings- just keepin’ it real!!! I was sooo not feeling that drive to the Harvest party yesterday but the horse and buggy made it all worth it for some reason! So unexpected! Oh, and you gotta love a man who vacuums!!! He’s a keeper! Keep up the thankfulness!!!! You can do it! And God is so good! ♥

  2. Maybe my man will vacuum after he retires!! I would love that! I’d keep on working a few more years if someone would do all the housework for me! Glad y’all enjoyed the harvest event at Hunter’s school. Hope you week is going well, Sweetie! I am thankful for you, your hubby and “the boy”!
