For Your Friday: Five Links You Must See

Welcome to Friday my Friends! We made it!

Progress for the show is happening ever so slowly over here… one apron down… many more to go?!?

wm apron

{kindly disregard the leftover Christmas bag…and my cat’s tail…and the clothes on the bed…. LOOK ruffles!!}

Today I’m sharing a few fabulous things I ran across this week. I hope you’ll take a break, grab a cup of something sweet and hang with me for a few to check these out… I’m mixing it up today with a few good reads, some pretty pics and two awesome songs…

♥ If you’re struggling with Fear… Seriously great insight on how to kick it to the curb…

♥ A rustic and romantic Living Room over at this beautiful blog …. I can’t get over how calm it feels (and after this week I’m seeking any shelter in the storm…!)

This song…. hands down my fave part of this tune and something worth remembering is this: I am for you…. do you forget this too?

♥ And this one too…. I just love a Psalm set to music… it may be an older song, but to me it’s timeless…

Pastor Nick Holden’s IG feed…. There is nothing better than seeing God’s word explained so simply by this man… I couldn’t figure out how to link to this one post from his feed, so I’m just going to paste it below but if you’re on Instagram, he is more than worth following.

What may be impossible for us, is just a simple thing in God’s sight. In our #nestingwithjesus reading today we see God instructing His people to do something that didn’t seem to really make much sense at the time. But they trusted Him and did exactly what He asked. And then He did what He said He would do—and the outcome went way beyond what they could have ever imagined. I encourage you to take a little time, as soon as you can, and read 2 Kings 3, so you can have the context of the following verses I’m about to share with you. God gave them His strategy… to simply trust Him and dig ditches: “Thus says the LORD: ‘Make this valley full of ditches.’ For thus says the LORD : ‘You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you, your cattle, and your animals may drink.’ And THIS is a SIMPLE MATTER in the sight of the LORD; He will also deliver the Moabites into your hand.” (2 Kings 3:16-18)

That is one of my favorite reads. It always reminds me that everything… is a simple matter to Him. He’s the one who plants the unthinkable—in the heart of the undeserving, like you and me, and then invites us to trust Him to make the impossible—totally possible. The water that God provided was so uncommon for that area that when the Moabites saw it in the valley, pooled in the ditches, they thought it could only be blood. What was a miracle for one was a curse for another. No doubt, He is able to do far more than we can imagine, we simply need to… trust and obey—trust and dig—trust and wait—trust and pray—trust and go—trust and preach—trust and serve—trust and give—trust and love—trust and speak—trust and hold my tongue—trust and forgive—even when it seems out of season, and unfair, and it doesn’t make much sense to us, He is trustworthy.

C’mon… good glory to God, I love it! It’s a SIMPLE thing with Him, whatever it is, even though it’s an impossible thing for you. He can fill your valley, or your life, or your marriage, or your family, or your church and community with EXACTLY what it needs. You and I need to trust Him and keep doing what He says or “digging our ditches.” Trust and obey for there’s no other way, to push your doubts and fears—far far away. Give Him something to fill, my friends, and He will my. “He is more than able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ever ask or imagine…” (Ephesians 3:20-21)

  1. What a great message from the pastor on Instagram! Following! (Andrea R Howey is another IG account I’ve discovered that is so ripe with inspiration and wisdom.) And I never noticed your cat’s tail OR the Christmas bag in the photo — we are own worst critics! I was solely focused on the cuteness of the apron! Happy Friday, friend! xo
