Well, fancy meetin’ you folks here… sorry I’ve been away for so long! I thought once the graduation rush was over, I’d have slightly less crazy days…
I was wrong…
So I declare today Mental Health Monday… at least in my own little corner of the globe… or mind…
Some days you have to be still…
And be quiet and be open to see where the Lord is leading…before you find yourself one button shy of a shirt… I think it was a sign when one popped off my shirt in Sunday School yesterday… the other sign was the fact I arrived with my shirt on inside out…crisis averted by a sweet student who so kindly alerted me to my dressing error… Funny how God uses some not so covert tactics to get our attention…
But I thought I’d pop in and share some things as seen through the camera on my phone in the past week or two…No pic could do justice to the hot hazy humid Virginia pre-summer weather though… please direct me to the nearest pool…
First up is a beautiful Saturday a couple of weeks back where my best girl and I teamed up for a yard sale! I cleaned out my house…ok I attempted to clean out my house. We thought we wouldn’t have enough stuff. We were wrong… And may I use this space to apologize to said friend whose children made off with my old rug and ottoman for their respective rooms, I know that isn’t the intended outcome of a yard sale…
We saw a rainy day for graduation… but we survived!
On the stickiest of Wednesday nights yet, the boy was given a car…
One really pretty Friday night we ventured to the rivah…uh Brown’s Island…
and saw this guy….J.Roddy Walston & The Business…totally worth the $5 admission! And afterwards, there were donuts… it’s kind of tradition anytime we see a show…ok, any time we go near the city…
And driving around town on a hot Sunday, I was treated to a reminder of my favorite trip from last year to Mayberry (Mt. Airy, NC… try to tell me it’s not the real Mayberry… go ahead, I’ll wait…) If you look close you’ll see that “Protected by Fife” bumper sticker just above the Suburban logo… you’ll also see they consider their children God’s 3 gifts and they probably voted for McDonnell…you sure can learn a lot from people’s cars…
But the one picture I missed out on from a balmy Monday night was the PRFCT PEAC license plate from North Carolina… maybe it was only meant for me to see… but I got the message loud and clear.
I hope you all have been experiencing peace, hope and love these past few weeks!
