Inspire, what God can do

The Choice of Faith

Well, my precious friends, life is hard. There is really no way to sugar coat that. And i’m sorry and i really really wish it wasn’t for your sake and for mine. Being a grownup is just not fun some days…when things are tight or decisions aren’t clear. When you see folks suffering and can’t wave a magic wand and fix it.  When you can’t even keep your own attitudes in check. (that last one… totally me some days…)

Sometimes that’s the hardest thing- changing our attitude to face our stuff. Beth Moore has a crazy good article explaining it though and i hope you’ll give it a read.

Lately it all seems to boil down to faith vs. sight

Or maybe…

Fear vs. faith?

Is my faith misplaced ? Am i lost or am I just losing my mind??
It’s a vicious cycle. One that can make you seasick.

I cannot get away from the storm story in Mark 4 and Luke 8. Sometimes every little shower- heck every puddle in life can feel like a major hurricane. (I’m forced to ask myself am i checking my attitude and renewing my mind?? Sadly i think not) Like the disciples in the boat i’m hollering out don’t you care Lord? I can’t toss the water out of the boat fast enough before it fills up again.

Then I’m reminded that i cant put my faith in the storm or the boat or the waves or on my own ability to scoop and carry and fling these buckets of water away. My faith has to be only in my God.

Have faith in God. ~Mark 11:22

For everyone facing a rocking boat complete with waves and wind, I’m praying for you.

And if you’re only facing puddles but they seem like oceans- that’s ok I’m right there with you and I’m praying for you too!

Remember who’s in the boat with you today.

  1. You’re so right. Sometimes that’s the only thing we do have control of…our attitude. But it’s hard…Thanks for your encouraging words today.

  2. You are so right. We have to constantly be working on the attitude and looking up instead of in. Praise God for each day and every trial. We are to learn and grow from them. God is there, we just need to connect. Love you girl.
