How to, what God can do

On Neighboring

Because Monday tends to be Sunday’s unlovely neighbor…

And because I love you too much not to share…

Our Women’s Discipleship Group met Saturday morning and feasted our ears and minds on this story (linked in the Youtube video below- you’ll have to hop over to your web browser to see it if you’re reading from your email or just click here). To say we weren’t all somewhat challenged and affected by it would be like saying we didn’t need Jesus every single second of every day in order to function (well, Jesus and coffee… And some of us shouldn’t start our day without both … ahem … but I’ll save that story for another day!)

It’s highly worth a listen with your morning coffee or over your lunch break.

Here’s to loving our neighbors well… whether they’re in the cubicle or the house next to us…

Happy Monday… Be kind!

  1. Thank you so much for sharing and encouraging us to be kind to our neighbors.

I feel as though neighborhoods are not what they once were, real communities that did life together.

It seems now, we have gotten ourselves and children involved in so much busyness, we just pull into our garages and shut the door immediately behind us, with no engagement with a neighbor. So much blessing lost, both on the receiving end and on the giving end…

    1. Amen Karen! (I think it’s probably why I’m so drawn to Mayberry in the Andy Griffith Show! LOL!) The busyness is definitely something I’m praying on and trying to eradicate in my own family.
Thanks for being neighborly and taking a minute to leave such a thoughtful comment. ♥

  2. Heather, I listened to this tonight and it was so moving. It even goes along with something the Holy Spirit has been saying to me lately. I have been so caught up (or not and feeling guilty for it) with things that “seem” urgent” but feel as if I am missing out on some really important (but small in man’s eyes) moments in life where I can just listen or be a blessing to someone. He has been saying to go visit my neighbor behind me for a while now, and I have been so caught up in our own trial that I had put it off. This was for sure a good nudge, or thump in my behind. God bless you girl, prayers & loves.

    1. Aww Meg ♥ I know it gave me a good shove this weekend too…. God is good like that sometimes! And I’ve found often the way out of a funk is to go serve someone else in some way- be it by just taking cookies to a neighbor and visiting or whatever! ♥ Sooo sorry about all the house/job challenges- I know God has a good plan for you girl!! Fighting the good fight with you and God gets the victory in the end! Have a blessed Tuesday!

    1. Amen to that Lux… Sometimes God’s simplest commands are the hardest… usually because my pride is in the way..! Thanks for popping over with a comment!

    1. Yes dear you certainly may ♥ wink wink! And yes one small step at a time is sometimes the key… that and lots of grace for ourselves! But as with everything, it’s easier said than done! ♥
